Fire In The Hole: Firefox 4 Beta app review
Don't like your defualt android browser? There's a lot of alternatives out there in the market. And plenty of us probably tried the majority of them. But as of late, a new kid is on the block. Firefox beta which is the smartphone version of the big boy computers is on android and so far I'm liking. The browser.
The first thing you notice when you open this browser is the loading screen which I could care less for. And also your recent website and recommended add ons. This is pretty cool, it gives you the feel that your using the desktop version which is nice. Optimized for the android device, you can navigate to you're settings and navigation buttons to the right, and your opened tabs to your left. Which a button to reopen closed tabs which is nice if u close one by mistake.
But there are bad features are pretty noticeable. First off, the browser sometimes disentangle keep your websites open when your multitasking. This could just be something I noticed but is a very big red flag. Second its huge in the file size department. For the most part this new version is smaller and faster than the previous ones, but big none the less.
Final verdict: a pretty solid browser. It has a dolphin browser feel, with a firefox look. You have the ability to install add ons, and even sync your computer to your desktop version which sets it apart from the rest. But just like its older brother, it takes up too much space. It also instead that great in the multitasking department. Lets just hope that the kinks are worked out when its out of beta.
