Drop Your Droids....For iPhones?

Now for all you guys out there on Verizon, don't get upset. If you were smart then you already knew that this was going to happen. Why? Well for starters, the iPhone is a brand that will sell in the market at a fast pace. Remember, the main draw to the iPhone on Verizon is the network. A reliable network with one of the powerhouse phones that have had lots of success despite being plagued with network problems on AT&T. With the release of the iPhone on Verizon, it was only natural that everyone would hop on the iPhone bandwagon and try to get an iPhone despite some having to pay way out of pocket to get one.

Don't get me wrong though, the iPhone was going to sell regardless. Droid users that wanted to get the iPhone but couldn't because of the fact that it was trapped on AT&T now have the opportunity to get there hands on the fabled device. Some places around the US have been stating that they are getting a lot of Droid trade ins for the iPhone device. Gazelle, a electronic trade in company based in Boston says that they have been getting trade ins of Droid devices for the iPhone out the yin yang. Like I said, its to be expected. The President of Gazelle Israel Ganot expects to get even more trade ins when Verizon releases buying options to the public on Feb. 10th. Again, to be expected.

Why am I not worried you may ask? Well because back around the time of the "Antennagate" fiasco, Apple started making comparisons of the sales of the iPhone to Android devices. While out the gate, iPhone did exceptionally well but that was only before the next wave of Android devices were released (i.e. Droid X, Evo). The trend may happen again. Think about it. Android has a butt load of devices coming out, even to the point that AT&T isn't gonna use the iPhone as there flagship device anymore but will instead switch to the Motorola Atrix. Now don't get upset iPhone fanboys, they are still going to sell the device, but its a smart move by AT&T to stay ahead of the curve and promote something new that will draw people in to there network. Thats just what Android does.

So lets see what the trend will be this time? Will iPhone have a strong sale point after the release of the next wave of Android 4G devices? Thats what I'm looking forward to seeing.
